You are probably right about the chicken pox. Allergic reactions don't create blisters that turn into crusty red bumps. The doc's approach seems almost bizarre given the symptoms. Maybe you do have straight neck, but it seems more likely the rash is chicken pox and not an allergic reaction to medicine.
